Have you ever had to celebrate a birthday in a place that doesn’t allow matches or open flames? Kind of a bummer for the birthday kid, right? Here’s a cute and easy way around that dilemma – paper straw “candles.” Place them in your cupcakes or cake, and let the singing of “Happy Birthday To You” begin!
Materials needed: stripey paper straws, scissors, yellow cardstock.
Step 1: Cut the straw into 4″ pieces.
Step 2: Cut out a 1″ x 1/3″ yellow cardstock “flame.”
Step 3: Snip two tiny slits into the top of the straw, and gently insert the cardstock flame. Insert into the cupcakes or cake and enjoy!
