It’s the most wonderful time of the year! National Donut Day! We were trying to one-up our donut pegboard from last year and we decided to try to make a color wheel donut wall! This thing was crazy fun to make (all the toppings!) and will definitely be the most instagrammed thing at your party.
To get that smooth frosting look pop the frosting in the microwave and dip your donut, then add whatever sprinkles you want. My favorite thing about a donut wall is once you make it, you can reuse it so easily. We’ve reused our donut wall a few different times for last minute parties. Happy Donut Day!
Materials needed: 4’ Square pegboard, jigsaw, tape, acrylic paint (in 8 colors), paint brush, wooden dowels
Step 1: Begin by cutting a circle from the square pegboard with a jigsaw. Cut another circle from the center approximately 12” in diameter.
Step 2: Measure and apply tape to make 8 equal sections.
Step 3: Paint each section a different color, going in rainbow order. Let dry completely. Apply a second layer as necessary.
Step 4: Cut down wooden dowels to create 2 ½ inch pegs for your board.
Step 5: Frost and decorate your donuts to match each section of color. You can use sprinkles and colorful cereal to decorate!
Step 6: Arrange your pegs in each section and hang your donuts! You’re all done!
